Ok, I DO see some irony in that specifically, LoL.FreeSocrates! wrote:The fact that red dragon cannot take a message he received on a totally different website (NOT THIS ONE) and post it on here, is ridiculous and absurd.
However, that message was sent to him privately from a CEO member.
I've said before that we protect our member's privacy, etc. So I have no problem doing so and hope you see that as fair.
Unlike Potty, where it sounds HIGHLY unlikely that his doctor is a member here. He can go ahead and post that email from his doctor.
I think people are trying waaaaaaaay too hard to make a point here. We can't be expected to not post pictures, names, PM's, etc, for all 7,125,000,000 people on this planet, but we can show our own members that privacy.
We respect our member's privacy in a fair and reasonable way for all members. I think this is something you can ALL be thankful for.

Simply, because that's the given policy of THIS forum - don't like it, don't participate.FreeSocrates! wrote:If someone sends me a PM, and I never agreed to keep it private, why should I...

Here is another weird example. (sorry that it has to do with K440, K440 has nothing to do with what I'm talking about, that's besides the point it was just a quick example I could think of).
What I'm talking about is, why are you crossing out things like names and photos that are LIVE on Twitter!!!
It's just really weird dude. The information is LIVE on the internet. No need to cross it out.

Again, I do it to protect member's privacy.
You never answered my serious question they will help you understand my point about protecting member's privacy:
Would you like it if I posted all your personal, identifying information here on CEO, which also happens to be "LIVE on the internet"?
Simple question. (And again, no, I would never do that to any member.)

^ And as you know, KiR was not on my good side when that screenshot was posted, so I did NOT do it as a favor for a friend, I did it to respect his privacy out of desire to run CEO in a fair, unbiased manner.

Re: K440 were anything goes as long as it toes the party lin
When I received a death thread from a jerk on K440 a few years. The best option I could do at that time was posted it publicly. But camgivag does what he do best...deleted it. And asked me to calm down.

Re: K440 were anything goes as long as it toes the party lin
I agree with FreeSocrates! on this, up to a point. I think the "terms and conditions" everyone agrees to when registering for this site should contain a sentence about private messages being co-owned by the sender and the receiver, and fair game to post in the forum from either of those two (and not admin or anyone else). So don't write anything in a PM that you are ashamed of to someone you don't know you can trust.
Another section of the terms and conditions should spell out exactly what info must not be posted at all under any circumstances...including real names, addresses, places of work, threats of violence, etc. (whether CEO members or not). That rule should be enforced for every post, whether copied from a PM or not. As long as the posting rules are listed and clear and enforced for all posters equally, then no one can really claim violations of free speech or favoritism.

Cool, and a well thought out idea.
However, we will keep the "PRIVATE Messages" private.
If you want to say something publicly, post it on a thread.
If you want to say something in private, send a PM.
If someone says something to you via PM that you think is questionable, use the "report" feature or contact someone on the mod team about it.
