Back on topic. Never piss an elephant off. I did once, also in Kerala in the middle of nowhere when I was living with the ganga farmer in the Cardamom Hills. No not these ones, the ones in South India. They are smart animals and it didn't want it's photo taken. I stupidly hid behind a log and took a sneaky shot which it saw me doing out of the corner of its eye. It went a bit nuts. Thank god the coolie managed to control it.
Also in Kerala, in Kumili, a large herd of elephants broke out of the park and totally trashed the whole town the year before i got there.
Perhaps we could employ one to clean up 51.
Anyone else with an elephant story? Seems like the appropriate thread.
