Non Criminal Background Check
Non Criminal Background Check
I need to submit a non-criminal-background-check certificate to a new employer, here in Phnom Penh. I'm a British citizen. Could anyone please advise the easiest/quickest way of obtaining one. I'm based here in PP.
Re: Non Criminal Background Check
I am fascinated by what such a thing is, and who/what has the credentials and authority to make such a certification about you.
Re: Non Criminal Background Check
Is that a criminal background check showing you have no criminal record?

Non Criminal Background Check
In the UK, this is called a DBS, Used to be Disclosure Scotland, now disclosure and barring service, except in Scotland.
In Cambodia, it’s the ministry of justice on Sisowath

You shall need a residency letter from your local Sangkat.
Foreigners have the joy of filling in a form aided by a person that will assist in completing it in Khmer. Extra $$
If I recall correctly, it’s $75. Processing time is 12 business days or more. There’s an expedited process.
You end up with this.
On the day that you complete the application, have answers for all of those fields in the image, above.
When you collect, Before you leave, check, and double check that they got everything correct. They have a slight tendency towards SNAFU.

Re: Non Criminal Background Check
Thanks but it's the DBS one I need, not the local one.

Re: Non Criminal Background Check
Do it online. I normally do.
https://www.gov.uk/request-copy-criminal-record
I seem to get 2-3 per year, these days.
Usual processing is about 3 days.
Beware of transit times in post to Cambodia. My previous to last one had 2 weeks remaining validity by the time it finally arrived, and I’d already departed again! (Largely down to the Royal Mail hacking problems at the time)
So make sure you use some form of tracked postal service, or courier.

Looking again, it’s nestled between both, but I’ve only ever arrived via Sisowath. Just opposite the Tourist information centre, and the drug addled Bird torturers.John Bingham wrote: ↑Tue Oct 10, 2023 2:03 pmThat's actually on Sothearos, opposite the palace. In Cambodia, it’s the ministry of justice on Sisowath

Main entrance is Sisowath side, closest entrance to the office where you submit your application.Freightdog wrote: ↑Tue Oct 10, 2023 2:56 pmLooking again, it’s nestled between both, but I’ve only ever arrived via Sisowath.
