Police Track Down Vietnamese Wife Killer

Cambodia News, (Phnom Penh): A police murder suspect, who used a knife to stab his wife during a family dispute and tried to escape, was found and arrested by the police less than 24 hours after the crime. The suspect was drinking when he was taken into custody by police at 11:00am on August 18, 2023, at the point of the concrete road in O Andong 1 village, Sangkat Prek Pra, Khan Chbar Ampov.


Mr. Ouk Bonin, Meanchey District Inspector, said that on the morning of August 17, 2023, in Prek Ta Kong 3 Village, the husband stabbed his wife in the right side of the abdomen during a quarrel. The woman was bleeding badly when her husband escaped on a motorbike, leaving her to be taken to Media 115 Polyclinic for serious injuries.

Later, the victim,Thi Bit Hoeung, alias Kapong, Vietnamese, female, 37 years old, died of her injuries, and the specialized force concluded that the case of violence resulting in death was a murder. Police therefore hunted down the husband, Kim Pov, alias Ok, Vietnamese, male, 39 years old, took him in for questioning and placed him under arrest for the murder of his wife.
