American evangelist Franklin Graham will attend this weekend’s Love Phnom Penh Festival, an event set to be the biggest gathering of Christians in the Kingdom to date.
Festival director Pastor Derek Forbes said Mr Graham visited the Kingdom before, but never gave a speech.
“He was here for humanitarian efforts in the past,” he said, adding Mr Graham will give a speech during the gathering this weekend.
Pastor Forbes said Mr Graham will deliver a religious message and share the Christian gospel for two nights at the Phnom Penh City Center Golf Driving Range from Saturday to Sunday.
He said the gathering is expected to draw several thousand attendees.
Buddhist-majority Cambodia is home to more than 200,000 Christians belonging to various denominations, including Baptist, Methodist, Roman Catholic, Lutheran, Anglican, Presbyterian, Mormon, Lutheran and Evangelical Christian churches.
Pastor Forbes said Love Phnom Penh Festival is the initiative of local Christian churches.
“They have been praying for a long time for such an event to happen here,” he said.
Pastor Forbes said church leaders came together to invite Mr Graham and partner with the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association for Christian outreach in Phnom Penh focused on sharing the love of Jesus Christ.

Re: American Evangelists Stage Phnom Penh Gospel Meeting
The Christian Evangelist meeting in Phnom Penh this weekend was preceded by a special 'Come to Jesus' KidzFest in October, to encourage Cambodian children to join the Evangelist church.

Give Cambodian Children a Chance to Hear the Gospel
By Tiffany Jothen • October 20, 2019
As a father of three, Derek Forbes’ greatest responsibility is to teach his children about Jesus Christ.
“My wife and I both want to see them accept Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior,” he said. “We homeschool and are very intentional about teaching the simple truths of the Gospel.”
But it’s not just his kids he wants to teach about Christ. Saturday, he’ll be part of sharing that same Gospel message with hundreds of children in Cambodia.
As director of a Franklin Graham Festival happening in the capital of Phnom Penh this December, Forbes is helping plan another big event in the busy city—a one-day KidzFest that precedes the Festival.
Forbes and his team project that each church in the area will bring about 45-50 kids—a number that could add up quickly in this city of 1.5 million people, not including four nearby provinces.
Over the past four months, a local committee has been telling Sunday school leaders, teachers and other ministries about the upcoming KidzFest, while encouraging children to pray for and invite their friends who don’t yet know Jesus. The committee has shared the event on Facebook and handed out invitations.
Having KidzFest six weeks ahead of the Love Phnom Penh Festival with Franklin Graham allows churches and volunteers to focus on one major event at a time. It’s also a chance to let parents and other family members know the Festival is coming.
“Children are the next generation of the Church, and without them, we will not have a next generation,” Forbes said. “The Bible tells us to ‘Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.’ It is extremely urgent that we invest more into the children.”
“KidzFest is an intentional focus on reaching the children so that we can impact them for Christ while they are young and see the Church blessed in the next generation,” he said.
The Love Phnom Penh Festival with Franklin Graham will be held December 7-8. Please pray for as many Cambodian children as possible to make it to Saturday’s KidzFest and encourage their parents to attend the Festival just weeks later.

Cambodian outreach festival this weekend
By Mission News Network -
December 7, 2019
Bibles For The World’s President and CEO John Pudaite tells us the ministry is a part of an outreach festival taking place this year on December 7-8.
“We’ll be providing scripture as a partner to Franklin Graham’s Love Phnom Penh Festival in the capital city of Cambodia. And we’re very excited about this opportunity,” Pudaite says.
“We’re very excited as we’ve seen the body of Christ come together. That is one of the things that is always so exciting and encouraging is to see the different churches, different denominations, and independent churches and other ministries come together and work together with a common goal of bringing the message, bringing the good news of Jesus Christ to the people of their town, of their city.”

Did you send him 10 dollars and expect to hear your prayer on the radio?SternAAlbifrons wrote: ↑Sat Dec 07, 2019 1:28 pm Franklin's dad still owes me, for an unfulfilled promise.

LOL Don'T laugh, It ain't funny
I just googled Billy Graham jokes and they couldn't raise a giggle.
chuckle
Funny stuff aside - i am surprised they are letting these poor misguided homeschooled dumbfenarkles do this.
I thought proselytising was illegal here. ??
And you see quite few of those crisply white-shirted "CIA agents on holiday" types getting around on their bicycles too.. all the way from Utah to save our souls from Buddha, communism and the Pope.
If we can't get them for proselytising, can we at least charge them for false advertising and not having a sense of humour?

Luckily, Buddhists are more accepting than all of you haters.
I could never be a Christian and I grew up in the Bible belt.
They are not a threat to you.
All parents, regardless of their faith, should have the right to homeschool their kids provided they follow established guidelines.

LOL. I'm glad I can laugh. I've always liked the pragmatic nature of this song and have run much more than 20 red lights in its honor.SternAAlbifrons wrote: ↑Sun Dec 08, 2019 1:27 am LOL Don'T laugh, It ain't funny

TBF, Graham, who is now dead, was probably just playing to his audience, who are the walking dead... Not you, of course.
I wish, proselytizing was illegal, but on the other hand, where would we get repressed girls who want to rebel against Mommie and Daddie? There are some ancillary benefits, I guess.
Those 'CIA agent on holiday type' are probably Mormons, and the bases for the Mormon church was recently disproved; It's a fake! (Joseph Smith would send boys on a 'mission' so he could take their little girlfriends. He had several wives, one of them only 14.)
So, you are right, we should charge them and fine them with some money-making offense. But where would we get repressed girls to put our weiners into? Would you turn down Mazzy Grace because she was a religious nut job, or would you work out the differences?
