Post by CEOCambodiaNews »

It shouldn't be too hard for Phnom Penh's finest to find this mysterious Audi owner...

Cambodia News, Phnom Penh: At 2:00am on October 3, 2022, there was a traffic accident in which a man suspected of being drunk hit a police shelter and a pedestrian crossing sign, along Mao Tse Tung Road. Street 217, Sangkat Tumnup Teuk, Khan Boeung Keng Kang, Phnom Penh.

Before the incident, a white Audi car with Cambodian license plate marked MR.PIDOU was seen driven at high speed by a suspectedly drunk man. As he arrived at the Chenla traffic light, the driver swerved off the road to the right and hit the "Asahi beer" police guard post located at the intersection, knocking it over and severely damaging it. The vehicle then continued on to hit another metal pole and break the red and green pedestrian crossing sign before coming to a halt.

After the above incident, the driver was nowhere to be seen, but the local authority, in cooperation with the traffic department, arrived and checked and contacted the crane to pick up MR PIIDOU's Audi and store it at the land traffic office of the police commissioner, until the car owner comes in to pay for all the damage caused. Fortunately, no one was injured.

Just out of curiosity, how much does a vanity license plate like "MR.PIDOU" cost you?

Thanks for my morning laugh.
He's so lucky there were no police in the shelter!

Of course it's already gone, but a similar one:

But if you really want to stand out it's more expensive:

That hut has been there since when Asahi was the cheapest beer around - about 14 years ago.
Silence, exile, and cunning.
