$1500 left in an unattended man bag at a massage? I wonder what nationality he was.

Organised sting? Otherwise, it would/could just as easily be filed in the gullible customer slot.

What would be the proof? Knowing exactly which $bills went in the bag, and into the parlour, and which ones were later discovered and matched up?

Knowing the serial numbers may have been easy. When I bought USD recently the bank recorded the serial numbers and gave me a copy.
On the other hand, talking serious money to a massage parlor does seem very suspicious or foolish.

This is where small ABA branches are just a godsend, to make sure your recent stash of Benjamins is legit all the way. Otherwise, the machines will spit them out right away, no questions asked.
