Cambodia News,( Siem Reap): A young law student took his life at the boutique Krishna Villa at 8:50 pm on the night of January 20, 2022, in the village of Sala Kanseng, Sangkat Svay Dangkum, Siem Reap city, using the gun of a Phnom Penh military officer who was working as the bodyguard of the wife of Tycoon Hong Piv.

According to the police, the victim, Ros Sieu Leang, a 22-year-old male student, was eating together with his family at the Boutique Krishna Villa in the village of Sala Kanseng, Svay Dangkum, Siem Reap. At 8:50 pm that evening, the bodyguard, identified only as Ratana or "Tiger 9", left his Glock17 pistol on a chair next to the young man and went out to buy some food. The young man seized the loaded firearm and aimed it at the right side of his head, killing himself instantly.

According to the police, 54-year-old Prak Sarin, the father of the young man, told them that from the beginning of December 2021, following the death of his mother-in-law, his son Ros Sieu Leang began to have strange symptoms, talk nonsense and be depressed and wanted to commit suicide. Seeing his son's distress, he brought him to Siem Reap for treatment and daily medication.

After investigation, the authorities declared that according to the explanation of the father about his son's depression and thoughts of suicide, together with the forensic study of the Office of Technical and Scientific police, it was concluded that the deceased took his own life.
Sources from the scene confirmed that the Glock17 pistol that was used in the act belonged to Ratana, alias Khla 9, a military officer in Phnom Penh and a bodyguard of the wife of Tycoon Hong Piv, who disappeared from the scene soon after the shooting incident. Currently, the authorities are continuing the investigation of this case in more detail.
