Yamaha dealer changes price after I enquire
Yamaha dealer changes price after I enquire
So I am looking to purchase the yamaha ray Z from Yamaha dealer and I hit them up on facebook.
In one their recent posts they say it is 1380.
I find a previous post where they say it is $1250.
I ask has the price increased and if they can sell it to me for $1250 like they originally did.
They tell me that they never sold it for $1250.
I linked them their post (which was from April)
(they changed it now after I made this enquiry, but you can still view original price in the edit history, I screenshot it here )
They said it was an error and apologized and quickly edited the price...
Maybe it was a genuine mistake, which means that they have not sold a single one of these since april at the price they posted on their facebook page. What do you think?
By the way, anyone know if this bike is any good? I'm just after a cheap bike that gets me around, but I decide to buy new now to save me trouble.

Your not in Kansas anymore and any money you save by buying the yamaha you will loose when trying to resell it. Yamahas are not popular with khmers the honda dreams aren't that much more than, that are they ?, and then you will at l least be able to resell it quickly to pay your hospital bills when you crash.

Thanks, but I'm after a relatively small automatic, otherwise I would go that route.

I'm not interested in Yamaha. I don't encourage you to buy Honda Dream because it faces to get robbed. If you like automatic motor bike, there are Honda PCX, Click, Airblade, Suzuki Let...etc. but I see many foreigners like to buy Honda wave( the price is reasonable).

I have always found the Yamaha main dearler to be very good. I bought a Jupiter a couple of years ago and its a great bike for around town. IMO better than a scooter as it has better handling and the manual gears allow for better acceleration. Yamaha are generally a bit cheaper than Honda for that sort of bike and also less of a jao target. When I bought they did all registration and etc for me very quickly. I have clocked around 24,000 k's now and recenty just changed chain, sprockets and disc pads. All servicing done at Yamaha with no problems.

iirc, AE86 doesn't like Honda. Yamahas are generally good quality. Wifey has a Suzuki manual, very nice bike.

^^I dislike Honda of Cambodia and Honda USA, but have a semi liking to Honda Japan. i.e. The Honda Crea Scoopy (built in 2002) is a 50cc ultra low emission, water cooled, all aluminium cast frame, high compression, recyclable fuel efficient high tech piece of engineering. The 2015 Honda Dream is a high emission, air cooled, steel frame, low compression, carbureted, manual choke, inefficient, low tech piece of crap and yet costs the same. Honda of Cambodia I think is Incredibly lazy and makes use of ridiculously outdated foolish designs in my opinion, Yamaha and Suzuki (of Thailand) have them beat by miles. I will never step into an NCX Honda showroom with the intention to buy a bike, so long as they remain the same recycled low tech lazily engineered pieces of junk that they are.
Personally, I like using bikes that no one steals or pays attention to. When I was last staying in Cambodia I had a Sangyang Wolf. Beautiful piece of cheap kit, easy to service, but no Khmer would touch it. Cost $900, 5 speed manual, 150cc, 35 to the litre, and plenty comfortable too. Btw, Sangyang's built Hondas for Taiwan and then used under license the CB125 design for their own bikes. Sangyangs are also fantastically durable.

Thanks for all the insight, I might sit on this a bit, not in that much of a rush I suppose.
I also want something that is not a target for thieves, but after hearing that my roomate had his ancient $170 moto stolen from the parked area of our apartment, it seems to me that anything and everything is a target..
