Fatal Gas Explosion in Village Home

Cambodia News (Battambang): On March 12, 2021, there was a gas explosion in the kitchen of a village house, causing 1 dead and 1 injured, in Cheu Leal village, Sompov Lun district, Battambang.
The victims were identified as Chem Seu, a 54-year-old woman, who was slightly injured, and Meng Hing, a 23-year-old man, who was so seriously injured that he died.

An electrical fault caused the explosion. The body was returned to the family for funeral preparation. RIP

How?
If there was a gas leak than old or poorly installed electrical systems often spark and that could easily start a fire or cause an explosion. I imagine many electrical systems are not installed by licensed professionals or well inspected.
