Drones with Cameras are Now BANNED in Cambodia
On Monday, Cambodian authorities issued a directive to ban drones with Cameras on them in Phnom Penh saying that they affect people's privacy and security.
"To ensure the respect for the rights of people and to maintain security, safety and public order, the Phnom Penh municipality decides to ban camera-equipped drones from flying airspace from now on," the directive said.
The ban comes after TV stations have been using them to take photos/videos of private property.
No more GoPro footage to come out of Cambodia now. No legal footage anyways.

Quite astonishing! A small developing country like Cambodia has more respect for privacy and concern about the trends associated with these devices than the Greatest Nation on Earth AKA " Land of the Free "

They might not look so righteous if we knew more details...

That’s really beyond words. The Cambodian government surely has a wonderful and great record when it comes to respecting people’s rights and privacy. These assholes are getting more and more impertinent by the day.
Und der Haifisch der hat Tränen
Und die laufen vom Gesicht
Doch der Haifisch lebt im Wasser
So die Tränen sieht man nicht
In der Tiefe ist es einsam
Und so manche Träne fliesst
Und so kommt es dass das Wasser
In den Meeren salzig ist
Und die laufen vom Gesicht
Doch der Haifisch lebt im Wasser
So die Tränen sieht man nicht

Shame. I was looking (drooling) at a $1000 drone on KLIA2 last week and wishing.
Bodge: This ain't Kansas, and the neighbours ate Toto!
Re: Drones with Cameras are Now BANNED in Cambodia
Sensible policy. We can't have drone videos of protesters getting beaten. That would make Cambodia look bad.

thing is this though. you can hide in a car or van or something that is a couple of hundred meters away and steer the drone. how would they ever catch anyone. also "to protect the privacy of the people" my ass. The only people you're protecting are the ones that have built themselves huge mansions from the money that they stole from the actuall people. thug government

I think it's because this German dude was flying a drone over the Royal Palace (while the Queen Mother was exercising in the yard).
