Two new peacock spiders have been discovered in Queensland and their names and looks are perhaps sweet enough to make the most fearful, fearless.
A graduate student at the University of California discovered Sparklemuffin and Skeletorus in Toowoomba, Queensland.
Madeline Girard was looking for as many species of peacock spiders in Australia to research the different types of communication they use.
Dr Michael Kasumovic, who is assisting Girard with her research, said Sparklemuffin and Skeletorus were just some of the few new species which had not been found before.
