Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): On July 7, 2020, at 4:10 pm, a fish truck overturned into a canal after it was hit by a container truck on Vimean Chneas Chneas boulevard, Sangkat Kok Roka, Khan Prek Pnoa, Phnom Penh.

A man was driving a truck loaded full of fish, plate no. PP3E-7704, with two passengers, in the direction from south to north, when suddenly, the fish truck was hit by a container truck causing the truck to overturn, and 5 tons of fish were dumped into the canal. Unfortunately, all the fish were dead so they couldn't swim away; but the fish truck driver and his passengers escaped with light injuries.

After the incident, the local police contacted the trafficking to check the accident. There was no damage to other people's property, so the police allowed the fish truck owner to take the truck to the garage for repairs.

Being alive would not have saved these fish.
Salt water scad (probably Round Scad) from the coast do not do that well in "fresh" water canals.

Never mind, a bit of a rinse and they will still get to market ok.

Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

The fish merchants are amongst the most powerful group in kohkong, similarly from kompong soam probably.
That flow of seafood to phnom pehn, thailand and china is still a river of slilthering silver.
So, you know... they got a special kinda pass on the windscreen i guess.

That prohok is one of the foulest smelling concoctions I've ever come across.

Would love to see it banned..don't care if it tastes good :protest: Most mornings a neighbour cooks that up for breakfast and the smell wafts into my apartment.. :dragonchase:

There are many different kinds, some barely smells and some stinks really bad.
Silence, exile, and cunning.
