Cambodia News (Kandal): On March 18, 2021, at 7:10 am, a 21-year-old man, Hom Sengly, a worker at a sand dredging site, died after he received an electric shock at a sand dredging pit in Kean Svay district, Kandal.

According to the victim's brother, 18 year old Hom Rotana, he, his brother, and another man named Sok Kri, 25 years old, were working at the sand dredging site as usual. They went to turn on the dredging machine, and he and his brother were pouring oil into the engine when the victim touched a live wire, causing him to get such a shock that he fell into the river.
The other two men immediately turned off the machine and went in search of his brother. But the water was so deep that they couldn't find the victim's body until a few hours later at 9:10 am.

After receiving the information, the police went to the scene to examine the body. The police concluded that the victim had no suspicious marks indicating a crime, so they ruled that the deceased died from accidental death due to an electric shock.
The body was returned to the family for funeral preparation.
