Kampot Man Arrested for Violence Against his 2-Month Old Baby

Cambodia News, (Kampot Province): Angkor Chey District Police of Kampot Provincial Police on March 3, 2023 arrested a man for intentional violence against his 2-month-old son at their home in Po village, Phnom Kong commune, Angkor Chey district, Kampot province. The baby was seriously injured and was sent to Kantha Bopha Hospital in Phnom Penh for urgent treatment on February 27, 2023.

According to the report of the Angkor Chey district police, the suspect was named Roeun Chanratana, 27 years old. The victim was the suspect's child, a 2 months old boy. The suspect is accused of picking the baby up and throwing it on the floor.

Note that he relatives of the child victim did not complain to the police,but immediately sent the baby to hospital in Phnom Penh.
However, on the morning of March 3, 2023, the Kantha Bopha Hospital informed the police of Angkor Chey District in Kampot that Roeun Chanratana from Po village had thrown his 2-month-old son on the floor, causing the child serious injuries.
Immediately, the local police officers placed the man in custody.
