Dozens were swept away by a landslide in Hpakant last year, and at least 120 were buried in 2015 after the collapse of a mound of tailings, a mudlike waste byproduct of mining.

And the whole area is a military zone; I have always heard that a lot more accidents happen there than admitted to by the government.
