Train Hits Tourist Van in Phnom Penh

Post by CEOCambodiaNews »

Phnom Penh: According to the Kohsantepheapdaily, a 12 seater tourist van got hit on its left side by the train from Kampot to Phnom Penh. The incident occurred at 4:00 pm on May 26, 2016 at Sre Knong village, Kontork commune, Pursen Chey district. The report continued that before the accident, the tourist van, a Hyundai, licence number 2AF 6380, was being driven from east to weste while the train was coming toward it and honking the horn many times but the driver failed to react. It was assumed that he heard nothing due to the car having the windows closed. The car driver fled the scene, and the train continued as normal.

The car driver fled the scene
This one always gets me: as soon as there is an accident, there will be 100'ds of rubber-neckers, but the driver always "flees the scene".

This proves that the train not only hates Lexus cars but also Hyundai's ?

and the train continued as normal.
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

You would think the obvious thing to do, when driving over railway tracks, is to look both ways before you start crossing, to see if theres a train coming, even if its only travelling at 15km per hour

That's about the best outcome I've ever seen from a train vs car tang. I like the way the train just continued as normal, I wonder if they even bothered stopping? :?

This truck was pretty lucky too, the driver may have died from whiplash but at least the cab was intact. They probably didn't need to scrape all the meat from the road and wreckage.

That might be obvious in countries that have railways tracks with trains running on a regular schedule over many years. This train service has only recommenced recently so there is still much to learn by the locals before it becomes obvious.

I'm siding with the train for personal transportation.

given Asian rules of the road ( biggest wins ) train is probably a good choice.
