Share your tuk tuk and motodup stories
I hired a tuk tuk to take me around some of the lesser-seen temples in Siem Reap; some of them an hour and a half ride from the main temple area.
On the way when we were stopped, the driver opened the lock box by my feet and pulled out a revolver. He handled it while telling me that he was a police officer, and driving a tuk tuk was his side gig. I could see it was fully loaded. I had no reason to doubt him, and certainly not to question the veracity of his statement. He did know his remote temples, and nothing else strange happened that day.

This guy I hired once ran a red light. When we got to my destination I paid him 6000 riel and said 'arkun charan, bong'.

Re: Share your tuk tuk and motodup stories
When i first arrived PP i asked TT if he knows where i can find shisha? not knowing it was recently banned there, but he claimed that he knows where and took me around, after 30 minutes we were still going, he passed by Wat phnom multiple times so i realized he was just wasting my time, when i confronted him he called his brother who spoke to me and said that its illegal in Cambodia however he can hook me up with different kinds of drugs but shisha is dangerous and could put them in trouble with the police, it was very strange, i asked him to get me back to my hotel, when we arrived he demanded 15 Dollar for taking me around and wasting his time, i gave him 1 dollar and told him to stop offering tourists illegal stuff, he was furious and wondered how i dared speaking to him such in his country, the next day he was waiting downstairs bringing his brother, they took me to their house with Beer, Khmer food and Shisha. they were great people.

Haha. I prefer it in Bali and Thailand where after you rebuff "you want girl?" the next question is "you want boy?" before they move on to anything else.
