Police Bust Bavet Casino; Two Arrests

Cambodia news, Bavet City; At 10:15 pm on July 12, 2022 in front of the Paris East Casino, Bavet City, Svay Rieng Province, two Vietnamese nationals were taken into custody.
According to the authorities, the suspects were named Nguyen Dang Phuong, 26 years old, a Vietnamese national, an employee of the Borey Sam Suon Hotel, and, Nguyen Houtong, 30 years old, Vietnamese, Uncertain occupation, currently living in Bavet city, Svay Rieng province.

The third suspect who escaped the police raid, is known to police as Vy, 35 years old, a Vietnamese national who runs a massage parlor and a hotel on 296, currently living in Bavet Kandal village, Bavet city.

Sources said that under the direction of Mr. Se Vuthy, Commander of the Svay Rieng Provincial Gendarmerie, there was a crackdown at Paris East Casino in Bavet Kandal village Svay Rieng. Two arrests were made and another suspect is being sought by the authorities

Perhaps this shows how tightly cash is controlled at a casino. Of the presumed dozens of criminals there 24/7, only 2 weren't able to pony up enough cash to escape arrest.
