Cambodia News, (Phnom Penh): Mr. Sin Sovannaroth, Judge of the Phnom Penh Municipal Court, on the morning of June 7, 2022, announced the verdict of a woman, Suon Phalla, a 42-year-old female, living in Khan Chbar Ampov, Phnom Penh, to a sentence of imprisonment for 2 years, a fine of 4 million riels to the state, and a payment of $ 50,000 to the civil party on charges of "fraud".

The accused confessed that on March 7, 2019, she actually sold a piece of land that did not belong to her to the plaintiff for US$350,000. At that time, she also demanded a deposit of 50,000 US dollars to get a legal land title for the buyer. But when she got the money, she kept promising and escaping, until the victim went to the police, and the suspect was arrested and detained from then on.
