Re: how many longterm expats use tuctucs everyday ?
First I have to admit that it has been years since I lived in The Big Stink. From what I have seen on my monthly visits, there is no way in hell I would drive anything smaller than and less armoured than a tank. So yes as a visitor I ride in a tuk tuk with a driver I consider trustworthy and reasonable.
As my old Cajun bait seller used to say, "I opes you luck.

The only time I ever ride a tuktuk is when going to the airport. I know a few people who ride them daily though. Mainly people who don't trust themselves with a motorcycle, and/or enjoy just sitting there rather than driving.

Mostly I will walk. I'll grab a moto if it's too far to walk or if I'm in a hurry. And I'll grab a tuk tuk if I need to move something I can't carry on a moto.

I use them most days taking the kids to and from school. Don't want them on a motorbike and I don't drive a car here so don't have any other option (I guess I could use taxis now but I find tuk tuks more convenient).
If I'm going out on the weekends I take them as well as I know I'm going to be getting hammered so don't want to drive.

I walk a lot of places, more for the exercise than being cheap. I use motto for short local travel if i don't want to walk and use Tuk Tuks for all other PP travel.
I am too chicken to ride a motto and have no need for a car.
ps if you want cheap travel use the gas Rickshaws. there is an app you can get for the phone where you order them and pinpoint where to pick you up.

When I'm going to PP I drive and take a TukTuk locally. I've just started using Exnet.
I want to go in a Cyclo before they all go.
I saw a female TukTuk driver in SHV. Cool.

I asked a cyclo to take me from Riverside to Orussey and he wanted $5! I got a tuk tuk for $1.
So I still haven't used a cyclo.
