Bus Injures Two Motorcyclists in Siem Reap

Cambodia News, (Siem Reap): On December 13, 2020 at 10:20 AM, there was a traffic accident between a motorbike and a bus on National Road 6 at the point between Km 358 and 359 in Romdeng village, Siem Reap Province.

The accident occurred when a large white and red KIA GRANBIAD passenger bus, with license plate Phnom Penh 3C.1353, was driven by an unidentified person from east to west, and collided with a black Honda Dream motorcycle with license plate Siem Reap 1R.7617.

The motorcycle was driven by Boeun Noeur, male, 42 years old, carrying his wife behind him, Hour Hak, 34 years old. According to witnesses at the scene, the motorbike crossed the road from south to north and turn left to the west without paying due attention. The driver was wearing a helmet, but not the passenger. Both people were injured and were taken to hospital by ambulance.

After the incident, the driver of the bus continued to drive a distance of 500 meters, parked the bus on the right side of the road, and then ran away.

Where do all these runners go? Because it is unlikely in most cases to be that of their own town we're they live, so they are a stranger in that place where they run from the scene of a accident. No one seems to notice and the company who gives them a responsible job, and permit's them to drive a expensive mode of transport, never knows the person they gave employment.

AKK, yes you are right. That area of Siem Reap province is rice fields. I think nowhere to hide. Also, I cannot imagination as you say drive an expensive bus and that the bus company does not have the driver and his family's contact information and locations. We have for everyone we hire, including bank information.. I thought this was common procedure in Cambodia companies. We had a guy do a runner and smashing one of our company cars and although it was hard to find him at first we went to his parents home and found him. Best wishes to the injured.
