Re: Go see International Under19s AFC qualifiers in Phnom Penh
Good stuff. Cambodia beat Myanmar 3-2 and still stand a chance of qualifying.
Cambodia in stoppage time win
27 October 2017
Cambodia recorded their first win in Group G of the AFC under-19 qualifiers in Phnom Penh yesterday evening, securing a 3-2 victory over Myanmar courtesy of a stoppage time winner from San Kimheng.
A first half double salvo from Hein Htet Aung and Lwin Moe Aung looked to put paid to the hosts’ chances in a one-sided first half encounter at the Olympic Stadium.
However, Cambodia clawed a goal back with an hour on the clock through the head of Kakada before an equaliser arrived from the very same player with 90 minutes on the clock.
With time running out, and Myanmar increasingly on the back foot, Kimheng popped up in the box to send the ball into the back of the net and help Cambodia to a valuable win.
In the day’s earlier match, the Philippines went down to their second consecutive hammering – a 6-0 loss to China.
Cambodia, in third place on three points, now have a chance of claiming one of five best runners-up across all groups as they face the Philippines for their final match of the group stage at 6:30pm tomorrow evening.

Goal difference Cambodia edged out in U19s race
Fri, 10 November 2017
Malaysia edged out Cambodia in an agonisingly close battle for the fifth best runners-up spot that would have given the Kingdom a place among the 16 teams contesting next year’s championship at the completion of all group matches in AFC U19 qualifying.
After losing 3-0 to south Korea in the last Group F match, Malaysia found themselves the fifth best runners-up at the time, as Cambodia missed a golden chance to finish better than their four points in Group G after a goalless draw with the Philippines, who had lost their two previous games 6-0 to Myanmar and China.
