A Frenchman Swam in the Deep Ocean Attempting to End His Life After Having an Argument with His Boyfriend

Kep: A Frenchman had a verbal argument with his boyfriend and then he swam in the beach aiming to kill himself, but was saved and brought to the hospital by the police based at the beach.

The incident happened in the evening on 20 August 2016 along Kep beach, Kep province.

Police said, the Frenchman named Chanvin Eric Pierre, 50 years old. Currently he is living in Krasang village, Kep city. He owns a resort at Kep.

Police said, before jumping into the water and swam away, the Frenchman had taken multi pills. Adding that, after he swam about 500 meter from the shore, police spotted him and then police contacted the boat that was carrying people from Rabbit island to help take him back to the shore. Later, police brought him to Kep provincial hospital for health check up.

After, police asked him his address and identity, he was transferred to Kampot provincial hospital.
