I think a lot of what you say is true, but I believe they do care about it more than that. As long as it's kept secret it's probably ok, and the wife probably doesn't mind her husband going to KTV's/ massage parlors etc for some short-time fun. It's when her husband has some special other who he sees too regularly, sets up in an apartment, lavishes with gifts etc that the jealousy sets in. I don't think there necessarily needs to be talk of divorce - when the gossip starts getting back to the wife all hell can break loose.
