Two Foreigners Had Their 500 USD and a Mobile Phone Robbed

Phnom Penh: According to Koh Santepheap Daily News, two foreigners were robbed by three robbers. They (robbers) pointed knives at them and took away their 500 USD and a mobile phone away and successfully fled the scene. The incident happened in Phsar Kandal 1 commune, Daun Penh district, around 4:30 am on 29 December 2015.

According to a security guard at the bank where the robbing happened, before the robbing took place, there were two foreigners walking along Sisowat quay and then when they reached in front of a bank in Phsar Kandal 1, there was a man on a motorbike and he stopped near the foreigners and asked the foreigners for a cigarette. After that, the suspect called his two counterparts to come.

Then, the suspects started to rob the foreigners by pointing knives at them and took away their 500 USD, a mobile phone and also their passports and fled away the scene.
After that, the foreigners went to file a complaint at police station in Phsar Kandal 1.

The armed guards here open carry, even when they're sleeping...The only thing they're hiding under their tables is their stash of ABC!

Not many guards here open carry in front of an atm! And they're there to watch the atm basically, they aren't there to protect stupid foreigners getting robbed! And at five am they definitely ain't ready to aim and shoot.
