Girl Raped and Killed by Fiancé As Mom Called Off Engagement

The man was mad with the girl mother for calling off the engagement, so he raped and killed his fiancée as revenge
Phnom Penh: According to Ann News, A Cambodian man was sentenced to life in prison for murder on 21, July by Mrs. Chan Madina, the judge of Supreme Court. He was mad with his fiancée’s mother for calling off their engagement, so he raped her and suffocated her. The murder took place in the night on 15, Feb, 2014, located in Kol village, Chhveng commune, Poneag le district.
The murderer name Theoun Ny, male, 23 years old, famer and the victim name Phon Sreyneang, 18 years old, factory worker. They both lived in the same village.
Witnesses said, they both loved each other and already got engaged with each other, however after three month of engagement, the mother of the girl called off the engagement. However, they still had relationship with one another. On that day, there was a ceremony in the village. He called her to go with him then as he was mad with the girl mother, so he raped her and suffocated her as revenge.
The day after, the corpse of the girl was found and the police started to investigate the case. He was frightened of what he had done, so he decided to take poison; however his relative brought him to the hospital on time which could save his life, but couldn’t help him to avoid the law.
