32 Arrests in Kabukicho NightClub Raid

Cambodia News, (Phnom Penh): According to the report, 32 men and women in a nightclub were taken into custody following a raid by Chamkar Mon District Armed Forces and sent to the Phnom Penh Military Police office, at 2 am on 2 June, 2023. This occured at Kabukicho Club in the neighborhood of Tonle Bassac in Khan Chamkarmon, Phnom Penh.
According to security sources at the above location, the forces of the Chamkar Mon District Unity Command arrested a total of 32 men and women, both foreigners and Cambodians. Some were customers at the club, and others are staff members working there.
The evening of 2 June was promoted as a "Special Girls' Night Out" with free cocktails for women, but according to preliminary information, the raid was targeting illegal drug use in the nightclub.
Currently, the professional officer has temporarily closed the Kabukicho club, as of June 2, 2023 onwards.
