Battambang Fishermen Net an AK Rifle

Cambodia News, (Battambang Province):According to the information provided by the local police officer of Maung Russey district, on May 18, 2023, two fishermen made a strange catch in a pond in the southern part of Kor village, Prey Svay district. Mong Russey, Battambang province.
Tje two men, who are brothers-in-law, went to collect their three fishnets from a local pond out in the forest, when they saw a fourth net there. Much to their surprize, when they pulled up the extra fishing net, it contained an AK47 rifle, as well as chargers and bullets, all wrapped in a plastic bag.
The villagers reported their catch to the authorities in Maung Russey district to check immediately. The local police called the Cambodian Mine Action Center (CMAC) to remove the arm and ammunition.
