Poacher Arrested for Killing Deer at Phnom Tamao Park

Cambodia News (Pailin): (Takeo): On 27 March 2023, a man was arrested by the Takeo Provincial Police for poaching game in Phnom Tamao Zoological Park.
According to the police, the suspect, 35 year old Them Ravi, went hunting with a homemade rifle in the national park in Tbeng village, Kraing Thnong commune, Bati district, Takeo province, on 26 March 2023. He shot and killed a deer, and sold the meat on the black market.
After the arrest, the suspect confessed that he took the rifle into a protected area to illegally hunt wildlife, and that he killed a deer and sold its meat. Currently, the suspect has been sent to the Takeo Provincial Police station to prepare a case to be sent to court for legal action.
