13 Kgs of Chinese Tea Meth and MDMA Seized in Police Raids

Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): On Monday, 27 March 2023, a senior official of the Anti-Drug Department of the Ministry of Interior said that the Anti-Drug Department raided two locations in Phnom Penh, resulting in the arrest of one suspect and the confiscation of a total of more than 13 kilograms of illegal drugs.
The senior official pointed out that the operations took place on the night of 26 March 2023, with the coordination of Mr. Oum Sopheak, Deputy Prosecutor of the Phnom Penh Municipal Court and the Phnom Penh Municipal Police. Two different targets which were raided were: the along National Road K1, Sangkat Chbar Ampov, Khan Chbar Ampov, Phnom Penh and house 109 Street 217, Sangkat Orussey 3, Khan 7 Makara, Phnom Penh.
During the operation, special forces arrested a suspect 42-year-old Neou Sok and confiscated drugs that altogether weighed more than 13 kilograms, including a package of ketamine, large Chinese tea packages containing crystal methamphetamine (ICE) weighing a total of more than 8 kilograms, over 4 kilograms of MDMA, and various packets of different powders which will be processed in a laboratory.
Currently, the suspect and the seized evidence have been sent to the Phnom Penh Municipal Court to continue the investigation.
