Cambodia News, Svay Rieng Province: Local villagers received an unpleasant surprise in the morning of March 21, 2023, when they came across a body of a foreign man hanging in an area of bush in Prey Koncheu village, Bavet City, Svay Rieng Province.

Immediately after receiving the above information, the specialized police force of the Bavet City Police Inspectorate in cooperation with the technical and scientific officers, went to inspect the scene where the body was discovered.

According to police, the body was identified as RENDY ONDANG, a male foreigner, wearing a yellow T-shirt, shorts, jeans and sneakers. Sources said that after examining the body of the foreigner RENDY ONDANG, Dr. Ong Sovandy, a doctor at Chi Phu Referral Hospital, has concluded that the deceased died due to a broken airway from hanging, and there is no evidence of foul play.

The unexpected death of Rendy Eugend Ondang, an Indonesian citizen from Manado, North Sulawesi,who was working in Cambodia, was reported on Indonesian social media yesterday. The deceased left behind his wife, Thika Lamongi, who was in Cambodia with him. The Indonesian Embassy is assisting in the repatriation of the body.
