Reckless Foreign Lexus Driver Injures Woman

Cambodia News, (Phnom Penh): A woman was severely injured in a trafic accident involving a foreign driver in Phnom Penh, at 3:20am on March 12, 2023, along Mao Tse Tung Road, next to Wat Tuol Tum Poung, Sangkat Toul Tom Poung I, Khan Chamkar Morn.
A man and a woman were seriously injured when a motorcycle taxi was hit at high speed by a black LexusCT200h car driven by a foreign man. Sources at the scene said that the motorcycle (Phnom Penh 1BX-6108)was traveling along Mao Tse Tung Road carrying two people from east to west, when it was hit by a black Lexus CT200h (license plate Phnom Penh 2BQ-3397), at the intersection with Route 143.
Witnesses said that the Lexus arrived at high speed without slowing down or braking, when it hit the middle of the motorcycle, then continued on to hit a concrete pole by the wall of the grounds around Wat Tuol Tum Poung.
Amazingly, the motorcycle driver escaped with light injuries, but the woman passenger was seriously injured and was taken to a private hospital. Meanwhile the driver was taken into custody by angry bystanders who handed him over to the first administrative police station for questioning.
