Mondulkiri Teacher Killed in Collision with Tractor

Cambodia News (Mondulkiri Province): On the night of 22 January 2023, a Highlander car and a tractor driving in opposite directions collided on Road 76 between KM 123 and 124 in Sen Monorom City, Mondulkiri Province. The accident killed a teacher and seriously injured two people.
The accident happened after driver of the Highlander (Phnom Penh 2AS-0219), 38 year old teacher Hay Dalux, crashed into a tractor driving in the opposite direction. The driver was taken by ambulance to the provincial hospital and was pronounced dead within half an hour.
On the other hand, the driver of the tractor escaped and left the tractor at the accident scene, leaving a seriously injured passenger who was in the tractor to fend for themself. The passenger was a 40 year old farmer, Nuon Samnang, who lives in Putreng Village, Dak Dam Commune, Oreang District, Mondulkiri Province.
At present, the body of the teacher has been handed over to the family for a traditional ceremony, while the vehicle has been kept at the Sen Monorom Police Inspectorate to wait for the procedure. It is not clear which driver was at fault.
