Vietnamese Man Charged with Kidnap, Torture, and Drugs

Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): On 6 December 2022, the police force of Sen Sok province sent a Vietnamese suspect to the Phnom Penh Municipal Court on charges of kidnap and torture, and storage of illegal drugs.
The incident occurred in a guesthouse in Prek Pnov district, where the suspect and five other accomplices used wooden sticks and electric batons to hit and injure the victim.
According to the report of the Sen Sok district police, the suspect arrested has been identified as 25 years old Chang Ngong Thang, alias Thang, Vietnamese national, and he is charged with the sequestration and torture of two Vietnamese men:
1. 29 years old Vieng Veng Leung
2- Vieng Van Chung
After the arrest, the police confiscated 1 handkerchief and 1 package of drugs from the suspect.
The Vietnamese suspect was arrested by the police on 3 December 2022 at Kob Srov Road, Trapeang Reang Chas Village, Khmuonh Commune, Sen Sok District, Phnom Penh. He is currently being interrogated at the Phnom Penh Municipal Court.
