Fatal Traffic Accident During Phnom Penh Downpour

Cambodia News, (Phnom Penh): A man drove a Toyota Prius at high speed and crashed into a Honda Dream motorcycle, pushing it several meters forward, causing the deaths of two men. The owner of the car was seriously injured and was taken to hospital in a private ambulance.
The accident happened at 9:40 pm on December 3, 2022, along the road 60 meters near Aeon Market 3 in Sangkat Cheung Ek, Khan Dangkor, Phnom Penh.
A man at the scene, who asked not to be named, said that before the accident he saw the two male victims riding a black Honda Dream 125 motorcycle with license plates Phnom Penh 1IJ-1436. He said that it was raining heavily when a silver Toyota Prius color, license plate Phnom Penh 2AP-3606, which was being driven by a man in the opposite direction at high speed, hit the Honda Dream motorcycle.
The two men on the motorbike were killed instantly, and the injured Prius driver is still in hospital.
The accident is believed to have been caused by low visibility due to the weather, together with insufficient caution taken by the car driver, who was apparently traveling too fast for the weather conditions that night.
