Glamourous Businesswoman Pich Srey Mom Arrested for Embezzling Millions

Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): On the afternoon of 17 November 2022, the Phnom Penh Municipal Gendarmerie confirmed as preliminary information that Pich Srey Mom, a high-ranking businesswoman who has allegedly embezzled millions of dollars, was arrested by Phnom Penh Military Police at 11:30 a.m. in her home address: No. 4D, Darwin Street, Borey Vorchon in Koh Pich, Sangkat Tonle Bassac, Khan Chamkar Mon, Phnom Penh.
According to the Arrest Warrant No. 480 dated 28 October 2022, issued by Mr. Chreung Khmao, Prosecutor of the Phnom Penh Municipal Court, the arrest was related to the case of non-compliance with the law on exchangeable instruments. The arrest was led, implemented and coordinated by the Deputy Prosecutor Kim Hong San.
In addition, the woman is also involved in many other lawsuits which have been filed by the military police and other parties.

The ideal veneer of respectability here seems to have become a
chi chi borey home, a suite of IKEA office furniture, a few suits and a disdainful pout in recent years

Cambodia News, (Phnom Penh): The Investigating Judge of the Phnom Penh Municipal Court, on November 22, 2022, sent a female businessman, Pich Srey Mom, to a temporary prison to await legal action in connection with the crime of embezzling millions of US dollars.
According to the court's pre-trial detention order, in this case, the accused Pich Srey Mom, 35, appeared before the Phnom Penh Municipal Court on charges of non-compliance with equipment, ie. she issued a rotten check.
Defendant Pich Srey Mom could face between one and two years in prison if convicted.

Pich Srey Mom, who was arrested by the military for swindling millions of dollars, was remanded in custody by a Phnom Penh Municipal Court judge yesterday
The businesswoman was CEO of Pich Sunshine Realty Real Estate.

In 2020, Sreymom borrowed about $1 million from Hour Nito to improve her business and in April, Sreymom issued cheques totaling $776,000 to Hour Nito in repayment of the loan.
