House Blows Up in Gas Tank Explosion

Cambodia News (Kampong Cham): On 18 September 2022, the Department of Fire Prevention and Rescue reported that a fire broke out in a house of a villager at 17:00hrs in Damnak Chrey village, Peam Chi Kang commune, Kang Meas district, Kampong Cham province. After receiving reports from the residents, two fire trucks were dispatched to the house with the cooperation of the Prey Chhor District Fire Brigade and the Peam Chi Kang Administrative Police Station.
It was discovered that the cause of the fire was a gas tank which explodrd while charging. The fire was completely extinguished by 6:20 p.m. with the help of two fire trucks and four water trucks.
The owners of the house, who were injured by the fire, are 52 years old Chhum Vanna, and his 50 years old wife Chhun Savy. The building, constructed with wood, concrete and stone, was severely damaged, but fortunately, the fire did not spread to any of the neighbours’ houses.
