Tycoon's House Under Construction Collapses Killing a Worker

Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): At 9:30 am on August 10, 2022, in Khan Sen Sok, Phnom Penh, the ceiling in a tycoon's newly built villa collapsed, killing one worker outright. According to the other construction workers, they had just finished setting the concrete ceiling and only 1 worker was left up there to smooth and even up the concrete, when moments later, the entire ceiling came crashing down. One man died and another was seriously injured.
According to the eyewitness, the injured victim was sent to the nearby hospital for treatment, while the body of the deceased victim was left under the crushed metal bars until 12:30 pm, when the authorities arrived to retrieve the victim's body. Following the accident, the building site was locked down and closed to workers by the owner.
The body of the victim was examined by the police before being returned to the family for the funeral.
