Gang of Bike Thieves Arrested After 25 Robberies

Cambodia News Kandal: On 27 July 2022, the specialized force of the Kandal Provincial Police cracked down on a case involving aggravated theft (motorcycle theft).
The five suspects arrested were:
1) 21 years old Borey Kimhom (Formerly imprisoned once in Kandal Provincial Prison for 2 years for aggravated theft in 2018 (motorcycle robbery);
2) 21 years old Long Chanborith, both Chanborith and Kimhom live in Prek Samrong Village, Sangkat Takhmao, Takhmao City, Kandal Province;
3) 20 years old Khon Soeng Hak from Prek Ta Prak Village, Talon Commune, Saang District, Kandal Province;
4) 17 years old Ny Soklay from Chong Koh Touch Village, Talon Commune, Saang District, Kandal Province; and
5) 17 years old Thoeun Lin from Phum Roka Leu, Khop Commune, Saang District, Kandal Province.
Evidences seized include:
6 motorcycles, five of which were Black HONDA DREAM C125 motorcycles and one of which was a HONDA Scoopy (Phnom Penh Kandal 1JF-1563);
Police said that on 24 July 2022, at the time of the incident, the victim, Borey Kimham alias Hong, was riding a motorcycle from Phnom Penh to a house in Prek Ambel commune. Suddenly three suspects chased after him on motorbikes. One suspect, Long Chanborith, was arrested immediately, while Borey Kim Ham, alias Hong, escaped from the scene and was arrested later by Saang district police, while yet another suspect escaped on a motorcycle.
After the arrests of the two suspects above, on 25 July 2022, the specialized force of Kandal Provincial Police in cooperation with the Police Inspectorate of Khan Meanchey, Phnom Penh cracked down and arrested 3 more suspects.
It should be noted that the suspect confessed to police that he and his accomplices had previously been involved in 25 robberies of a motorcycle on the street - in Saang district, Koh Thom district, Kien Svay district, Takhmao city and some other districts in Takeo province.
Currently, the suspects, including exhibits, have been arrested and taken to the Saang District Police Inspectorate for processing.
