Cambodia News, Kandal: 13 suspects who pretended to be monks in order to take money from people, have now been jailed. On the evening of June 28, 2022, Mr. Van Sopanha and Mr. Thong Phalla Rainsy, both Investigating Judges of Kandal Provincial Court, have issued arrest warrants for the 13 fake monks.

Police said that the Tuol Prech police force received information from residents on 27 June, that they saw a 2007 Toyota Highlander, with a Royal Cambodian Army license plate, carrying some monks and dropping them in front of the factory along Street 51. The monks were asking the factory workers for money. After questioning, the suspects admitted that they were not real monks.
