“Authorities can verify the certificate by scanning the QR Code on the vaccine card and access our database. From past experience, we found that when we scan a foreigner’s vaccination card’s QR code, we have difficulty accessing the country’s database or sometimes we just cannot access their database,” he said. “Now that we have the Asean agreement on mutual recognition of Covid-19 vaccination certificates, things will improve tremendously and our border officers can carry out their duty well.”
