Vietnamese Casino Strongarm Arrested for Violence

Cambodia News, (Kandal Province): A Vietnamese casino "heavy" was arrested by Koh Thom district authorities after violently beating two men in connection with a loan of 1 million riel. The suspect was charged with "intentional violence" under Article 217 of the Penal Code.
The above case of violence occurred on May 05, 2022 at 17:40 pm at Galaxy Casino, Chrey Thom Village, Sampov Poun Commune, Koh Thom District, Kandal Province.
According to the Koh Thom District Police Officer, the two victims were:
1. Name: Srei Hong, male, 37 years old, Khmer, living in Prek Run Village, Prek Koy Commune, Saang District, Kandal Province. Occupation: Casino staff.
2. name: Mon Vanna, male, 59 years old, ethnic Khmer, living in Village No. 1, Sangkat Svay Rolum, Takhmao City, Kandal Province, Occupation: Retired Officer.
As for the suspect, his name is Nguyen Bin, male, 52 years old, Vietnamese, currently living in Phum Keut Heto, Occupation: Casino worker and presumed owner of a cock-fighting ring (arrested).
The same source said that before the incident, the suspect and the victim (Srei Hong) discussed about a 1 million riel gambling loan debt, and then violence broke out between the suspects and about 7-8 accomplices who went to attack the two victims. After the incident, the victim came to file a complaint at the Koh Thom District Police Inspectorate. After receiving the complaint, the Koh Thom District Special Forces, in cooperation with the Sampov Poun Police Force, intervened to arrest the suspect, Nguyen Bin.
