Ouch, prison style self-hanging... that can't have been fun. Poor soul. Cambodia is a bad place to end up at the end of your line.

Something not right.

That's a plastic door which won't take much weight, and he hanged himself from the doorknob, which is screwed onto the plastic?

Suspicious.

That's exactly what I was thinking. Also look at the flimsy door hinge..... Didn't even put the '' Do Not Disturb '' sign on the outside of the door so was he pushed or did he jump ?

This type of door handle is not fixed to the surface of the door. It is inserted into a hole and the inside and outside parts are held together by 2 fixing screws from the inside.
Also, the door would be very capable of supporting the weight of a body. Plastic or otherwise.

Technically this was not hanging but strangulation. The rope or chord around the neck plus the weight of the limp body causes compression of the carotid arteries and/or jugular veins leading to cerebral ischemia. The lack of oxygen to the brain then leads to unconsciousness and death.

Yeah, my point was made with another scenario in mind.

Someone strangles him and ties the rope to the doorknob when leaving.
