Tuktuk Driver on the Run Arrested for Wife's Murder

Cambodia News (Phnom Penh) On 3 December 2021, the criminal division of the Ministry of Interior, in cooperation with the Siem Reap and Kandal provincial police forces, arrested a man who murdered his wife in Siem Reap city and then fled to Phnom Penh. The arrest operation took place at 2 pm on 3 December 2021 at the Preah Noray roundabout, Sangkat Doeum Mean, Takhmao City, Kandal Province.
The suspect was 43-year-old Thuok Chheat, a tuktuk driver, and the deceased was identified as So Chanthy, a 40-year-old female. The murder occured on 2 December 2021 near Deum Kralanh Market, South Taksin Village, Kork Chak Sangkat. Siem Reap city.
According Colonel Mom Chek the suspect admitted that he killed his wife out of jealousy. After the operation, the criminal division of the Ministry of Interior handed over the suspect to the Siem Reap provincial police force for further legal action.
