K49 Handgun Seized After Gun Violence on Flyover

Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): In the afternoon of July 15, 2021, in Sangkat Olympic, Khan Boeung Keng Korng, 2 men were arrested for illegal possession of a handgun in 7Days Hotel on Street 163. The arrest was made after gun violence occurred nearby the Kbal Thnol flyover bridge while the men were drinking alcohol and doing drugs at 10:30 pm on July 14, on Norodom Blv., Sangkat Chak Angre Leu, Khan Mean Chey.
The police raided the hotel and seized a K59 handgun with 4 bullets, and they detained 2 suspects, Keo Kunbunny, a 31-year-old man, and Sombath Vachhai (an alleged drug addict), a 34-year-old carpenter who lives in Khan Chbar Ambov.
The suspects are being held in custody awaiting trial.
