Man Arrested After Wife's Body Found in Floating Suitcase

Cambodia News: (Phnom Penh-Battambang): A man, who used a knife to cut his wife to death at 54, Street 598, Tumnup Village, Sangkat Phnom Penh Thmey, Khan Sen Sok, Phnom Penh on June 9, 2021 and then dumped her body in Tbong Khmum, before escaping to Samlot district, Battambang province, was arrested by the police on the morning of June 12, 2021.
The operation was carried out by the Criminal Police Department, led by the Sen Sok District Police Inspectorate and the Battambang Provincial Police Inspectorate, arresting the suspect, 59-year-old Xian Hour, at the Nila Guesthouse, Chi Pang Village, Battambang Province.

The suspect was taken to the Criminal Police Department for questioning and handed over to the Sen Sok District Police Inspectorate for further proceedings.

On June 9, 2021 at the point of house No. 54, Street 598, Tumnup Village, Sangkat Phnom Penh Thmey, Khan Sen Sok, Phnom Penh, a husband is accused of using a knife to cut and kill the victim, his wife Kong Wutty alias Ly, 57, then he broke her arms and legs and threw the body in a suitcase.

Later, on June 11, 2021, villagers found a dead body floating in a suitcase at the riverfront behind the mosque, Prek Touch village, Chiro I commune, Tbong Khmum district, Tbong Khmum province, 200 meters from the temple. They immediately informed the police.
