Nephew Beats Uncle with Stick and Climbs Power Pole to Escape

Cambodia News, (Battambang Province): On February 12, 2021 at 19:00 at Preah Sre village, in Battambang province, there was a case of intentional violence with aggravating circumstances (use of a weapon), by a nephew who used a stick to beat his uncle, causing serious injuries.

Colonel Panh Vanny, Banan District Police Inspector, reported that the nephew was Sim Ravy, alias Vith, a 27-year-old man living in Ta Pek, Group 5, Preah Sre Village, who used a stick to beat his uncle, Yi, a 59-year-old man, because he was angry with him. The nephew was at his uncle's house, and his uncle criticized him in some dispute over some clothes, so he got angry and beat him violently about the head.

The victim was badly injured and was taken to two hospitals. The police were alerted.

Meanwhile, the suspect tried to escape by climbing the power pole that brought electricity to the Phnom Daun Mai Cement Factory, just as the authorities were looking for a way to arrest him.
Finally, at 22:50 on the same day, the suspect was arrested by the district police after coming down from the lamp post, and the authorities are now building a case to go to the provincial court.
