Interesting discovery today on Twitter. Seems like it always pays to have friends in high places, but will the police chief's involvement mess up any special arrangements?

Clarification and interpretation of the Quick Reaction Team of the Criminal Police Department
Tuesday, December 15, 20200
Phnom Penh: The Criminal Police Department of the National Police Commission of the Ministry of Interior is honored to explain to the public, social media users and journalists, the following information:

Phnom Penh: On December 13, 2020, at 10:30pm, there was a traffic accident between a Tundra car driven by a Chinese man, and a Highlander car parked in front of Cambodiana Hotel, Village 2, Sangkat Chaktomuk, Khan Daun Penh. Police from the Chaktomuk Administrative Police Station went to the scene to mediate, when suddenly, a man wearing a police T-shirt and civilian shorts, and a bodyguard with the Ministry of Criminal Police came out. It was alleged that the man claimed to have higher authority than the post police chief.

In this case, the Criminal Police Department would like to categorically deny that the two police officers of the Criminal Police Department, Lt. Col. Ing Chung Hong and Lt. Col. Pen Chea, intervened in the above traffic accident. Both officers had just returned from their mission when they saw the incident, so they went to see if they could assist. Then the two men returned to their homes.
Separately, the accident was resolved at the scene with the agreement between the provoking party and the injured party.

However, some people on social media have suggested that the two officers were attempting to obstruct the law. In this case, the department summoned the two officers for questioning, and the Criminal Police Department would have enforced discipline at the unit, according to the National Police Force, if any offense had been committed.

Therefore, the public, especially social media users, foreigners, and journalists, please be informed and always provide up-to-date information to the authorities; please avoid disseminating vague information which confuse the public and insult the competent institutions, affecting the honor of the armed forces.
