After weeks of intense competition, Miss Universe Cambodia 2020 has crowned Reth Sarita, who will bear the country’s flag and compete for the crown in the world’s most prestigious international beauty pageant this year.

Reth Sarita, a 25-year-old actress and model, has already made a name for herself for her roles in the BBC Media Action’s TV series “Love9” and international films such as “Hex” and “The Spell”, which were released last year in the United States.

The post-graduate International Relations major at the Royal University of Laws and Economic last night bested 19 other candidates on Bayon TV and will be representing the Kingdom of Cambodia in the 69th Miss Universe pageant on December 8. The crown was presented to her by last year’s winner Somnang Alyna.

Reth Sarita, 25, was crowned Miss Universe Cambodia 2020 in the evening of November 26, 2020. She bested 19 other candidates.

Born in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, Reth is an actress, a model and a television presenter who aspires to be the first female film director in her country. Currently, she is a student of the Royal University of Law and Economics in Phnom Penh where she is pursuing a masters degree in international relations.

Fluent in both Khmer and English, Reth attended the private French primary school Lycée Français René-Descartes and earned her bachelor’s degree in English from Vanda Institute. Both schools are also in the Cambodian capital.

I can understand everybody who falls in love with a cambodian woman. Even if she isn't as gorgeous as this one.

I'm more curious about--

What a French judge on the Miss Universe panel of judges would think about someone having attended a Lycée Français but notably not fluent in French. Or is it to be assumed that she has an excellent command of the language with Khmer and English mentioned to enhance her credentials?

I know a few kids that went to Lycée Français René-Descartes, primary, and they became fluent in French.
I thought they had to or drown. ??
